PureVPN Review

PureVPN is one of the leading VPN providers in today’s world. Their quality service and customer support has earned them numerous positive reviews in some of the most prestigious tech publications. If you read a review left by a user of this VPN service, chances are high that it will be positive as well. What makes this VPN service stand out from the rest? Here are a few things you should know:

GET VPN ACCESS

Guaranteed Anonymity and Protection

When you use this VPN service, your data will be routed through one of their 450 servers located in 101 countries. This allows you to browse the Internet and use any online application you want without revealing your real IP address. You can thus use this service to bypass Internet censorship attempts and access content that would normally be blocked due to geographical restrictions.

Using a quality VPN service also means that all of your traffic will be encrypted. This gives you an added layer of protection, as it prevents the interception of your data while you use the Internet. The software that they provide has numerous innovative features that help make private Internet use a lot simpler. One of them is the split tunneling option. This allows you to route traffic from certain programs through the VPN software while allowing other programs running on your computer to access the Internet directly. For example, you can make your file sharing software tunnel data through the VPN while continuing to browse the web by using your regular unencrypted connection. The other option is the Internet kill switch. This will “bind” all of the software programs on your PC to the VPN, so that if the VPN connection fails, they will not be able to access the Internet. This prevents your real IP address and location from being accidentally revealed.

This VPN service is pretty transparent about its data collection and logging policies. In short, they don’t spy on your browsing activities or turn over user data to third parties unless presented with a court order from a competent jurisdiction. They maintain some logs, which are kept for a few days. These logs keep a record of your connection attempts to their servers, session lengths and bandwidth used.

Supported Platforms and Devices

PureVPN has software and apps that allow easy use of their VPN service for Windows, Mac, Android and iOS platforms. However, you can manually connect to their service on a Linux PC, BlackBerry, Boxee Box, HP WebOS device or DD-WRT router. Practically any device that can connect to the Internet and has the option to use a VPN in its operating system can work with their service. If you use the Internet on more than one device, you will be happy to see that they allow you to use up to 5 devices simultaneously on the same account.

Great Reliability, Speed and Support

This provider maintains their own gigabit network, allowing for a 99.9% uptime guarantee and super fast speeds. There are also no bandwidth caps. This makes them an ideal choice for those who like to stream videos or play online games.

As far as support is concerned, they have a detailed knowledge base that addresses the majority of questions that users may have and provides helpful resources and tutorials that explain how the use the service to its fullest potential as well as solve common problems. They also offer 24/7/365 support by live chat. Their support agents are standing by to help you should you ever encounter any problem with their VPN. If you read any review of their service, chances are that it will mention just how good their support is.

Affordable VPN Service

PureVPN is one of the most affordable VPN services on the market today. Unlike some other providers, they don’t force you to prepay for their service if you don’t want to, so there is a monthly option. The other plans are for 6 and 12 months. Both of them work out to be a lot cheaper on a monthly basis than the 1 month plan, with the 12 months plan being the most advantageous.

No matter which subscription option you choose, you will get access to the same quality service. There are also occasional promotions that they run which allow you to save even more. For example, those who purchase the 12 month plan currently receive an additional year of service for free as part of their “Birthday Promo.” It is for this reason that so many reviews consider them to be one of the most affordable VPN providers in the world.

For added convenience, they give users a variety of payment methods. These include credit cards, PayPal, various prepaid cards and e-wallets, as well as Bitcoin.

might be a good service but didn’t work for me.

Netflix did not accept me connecting through this service.
The customer service was available to respond but was not always upto the required level (many times same question)

    Main issue
    ************
I asked for a refund before the “so called 7 days guarante refund” expired and this was refused because of too high consumption during the week that I was continuously trying to use their service and have it correctly set-up.

Think carefully before deciding to sign up to this service.

+ PROS: It worked for a few days
    - CONS: Their so called "guaranteed 7 days refund" mentioned on their site is false. I asked for a refund and they refused because of additional clauses on top of the 7 days. (My fault I didn't check the details of their offer)

    Hi,
DO NOT GET INVOLVED with PVPN!!!. They have sent me 3 invoices and have charged me twice. I then checked my Paypal account and after my complaint, they have cancelled the 3rd invoice, accepted the double charge and refunded me of the second one. Later my account was desabled and my access to the service not possible because of lack of payment(!!!). Now, I want to cancel the contract and refund of the first payment, but they want my ID or PASSPORT!!! Crooks!!!

I’am using this service for several months now, and it always worked good. The last 2 months a lot of connection drops however, at least a few times a day. Since a few days suddenly it’s not possible any more to connect to any of their servers. I mailed support three times already, but not even an answer. I’am starting to think they’re out of business so considering to find another service now.

Horrible service. I did a 7 day trial which didn’t work and I tried to cancel but they wouldn’t give me a refund even though I had only used the service for 7hrs not 7 days. Finally they said they had cancelled my subscription but then a month later I saw a charge on my credit card from them again even though when I log in it says by service is terminated. Not sure what to do now to stop them charging me every month except to contact my credit card company!
My advice DO NOT sign up even for a trial they are dodgy much better VPNs out there!

    - CONS: Take your money even after you cancel!

Was pushed by their online support to buy the service to access Netflix catalogue of other countries… it worked one week and after that not working anymore. Strangely the support disappeared…..

My account was blocked after being requesting to send partial copy of my bank card for security reason!!!!!!!!!!

Had difficulties to connect and luckily I am not computer illiterate otherwise … forget…

    Very disappointing service

This service never worked as advertised. Their severs location information is false and many of their servers don’t even worked. I’ve proved it to them never received any refund.

So-called ‘refund’ is a scam; I submitted 2 refund requests during the 7 day period (after not having used their service at all, as it failed to connect from 2 locations I tried it in!) – did not get a reply.
Submitted a ticket, and was just told that I need to submit a refund request via the same URL I have already used to submit two requests.

    Total scam.

    + PROS: None
    - CONS: All, including refund promise not being respected in any way (for a zero usage account!)

I have had PureVPN for maybe a year now. I bought the service when looking for a lifetime subscription VPN service. I paid around $65 one time for a lifetime service which has only made the deal better. I have never been billed again from the company. The support staff anyway have a quick and honest answer to my questions. The services offered are phenomenal! I pick this VPN because another online forum recommended the service because of the split tunneling capabilities. The software is very easy to use on my PC and on my mobile, there are few places where the VPN cannot get online and most times i’m sure it’s because the network hoster has blocked access to the needed ports. It may sound crazy, but go to stacksocial and get a lifetime subscription. I know that might sound crazy, but I promise you will not be let down. I don’t know whats up with the other people in this thread but the company is absolutely great to work with. And your card info goes to stacksocial instead.

+ PROS: Split Tunneling Many Servers Level of Privacy Easy to Use Cross-Platform Multi-User Account Logins (Up to 5) Can Bypass Some ISP and Local Network Throttling

If there are negative stars I would have given that to pureVPN. I have been travelling overseas in the past few days. Every time I stopped over a different country, my purevpn account was disabled claiming that I used more than the maximum sessions which I know I did not. Contacting support via chat and email was a joke as I keep getting inconsistent responses. Worse I got was that they accused me that I have used over 200 sessions per day numerous times and my account was permanently disabled. This happened even I provided a lengthy explanation that I only 1 session per country I traveled. I also told them that I tried my other VPN provider and everything went fine. What a shame as I cannot use purevpn overseas and got blamed for issues which was likely related to their software.

    + PROS: cheapest pricing around
    - CONS: unreliable and extremely poor customer support

Where do I even begin with this? Let’s start with their customer service. They use cookie cutter template emails off of a script, and from my experience, do not know what they are doing. Not only that, but you had best be prepared to wait for several days to get a response. Furthermore, when you request that they cease contact with you, they will not do so until you file an abuse complaint with their email hosting provider. What’s worse is that if you cancel your subscription, you can be sure that you’re going to receive emails about “unbeatable deals”, which are really just their regular price disguised to look like a deal. On top of their terrible customer service, most of their servers that they advertise do not work, and when they do, they disconnect frequently. Quite honestly, they’re the cheapest, two-bit, fly-by-night, Mickey Mouse operation that I have ever seen, offering service that doesn’t work half the time. It’s seriously a NIGHTMARE to get their services consistently working properly. Also, if you ever have a technical problem, be prepared for a long and gruelling nightmare dealing with individuals who obviously do not possess a sufficient comprehension of the English language necessary to perform their job duties adequately. I can’t help but wonder if their email agents are actually robots, as about 98% of my correspondence with them looks like something you would get from a robot. Terrible service, terrible customer service, and their billing system is even worse. If you cancel your subscription, they will harass you needlessly for MONTHS to try to get you back. They do not honour the unsubscribe link that they provide, and they keep your email address on file as a former customer for future SPAM purposes, which only serve to deliver you lies, such as promising you an “unbeatable deal”, which is really nothing more than their regular service made to look like a discounted bargain. On that note, if you sign up for their monthly package, you do not get the same treatment or advantages as you do by paying for 6 or 12 months up front. In my opinion, they’re a crooked scam, they advertise lies that they will not honour, and they won’t leave you alone once you give them your contact information. BUYER BEWARE!!

+ PROS: I respectfully decline to comment, as I have nothing good to say about them.
    - CONS: Unreliable service, terrible customer service, and they harvest customer email addresses for SPAM purposes, but do not honour cease contact requests or their unsubscribe function.

PureVPN is a sinister, devious under-handed company and I would NOT RECOMMEND them to my worst enemy. I specifically selected the 1 month deal, but they kept charging me month-after-month! Then to cancel your service you can’t just log in to your profile and cancel – you have to open a SUPPORT TICKET! But that’s not all. They then send you an email that looks like a marketing mail, but in the blah-blah-blah section they ask a simple question “If you have already decided to quit then let me know and I will cancel your subscription right away without any further delays.” which means you ALSO have to reply to the mail. That is sinister, devious and under-handed practices.

+ PROS: Nothing I can think of.
    - CONS: Negative marketing, bad cancellation process, difficult to close account, poor pricing policy, bad business practices
